GAVIN WREN

GAVIN WREN

Research and Creative Director

Gavin is a food policy geek with a passion for creativity in food systems communication.

His diverse career brings together creative flair with a deep level of food systems knowledge, including work in food policy, food photography, food writing and graphic design. Credits include National Geographic, Radio Times and food policy work with the European Commission. Gavin is also founder of OmniAction and Quota.

Gavin also once designed machines to launch sugar cubes and make ice cubes in sixty seconds.

ANJLI VYAS

ANJLI VYAS

Brand and Strategy Director

Anjli brings a decade worth of brand development experience across global industries and impact-driven organisations.

Her experience targets on-trend, policy and waste reduction, underpinned by a Bachelor of Arts in international fashion marketing and a Diploma in Marketing, alongside culinary training.

Anjli is an experienced chef and possesses a deep understanding of hospitality, sustainability and food systems. She is also an active member of the Global Chefs Manifesto, and also a mental health advocate.

BARBARA BRAY MBE

BARBARA BRAY MBE

Barbara runs her own consultancy business in the UK, driving and delivering food safety in food supply chains and advising agri-food businesses on food and nutrition strategy.

Prior to consultancy Barbara worked in the Ugandan agri-business sector for three years after graduation and then spent fourteen years in the chilled foods sector in the UK and France. Her nutrition work led to being awarded an MBE and speaking at a TEDx event.

Her nickname when she worked on the Uganda Farm was ‘Mrs Bean’.

JEZ FREDENBURGH

JEZ FREDENBURGH

Jez is an award-winning journalist specialising in stories about food, agriculture and sustainability. She covers everything from food culture, to supply chain inequality, to business and policy. 

She writes for BBC Future, National Geographic Traveller Food, Huck, Vice, Farmers Weekly, Farmers Guardian, British Farmer & Grower, Land and Business, and Aspects of Land. She co-produces a podcast and gives podcast training. 

Jez blames her love of food on her upbringing on a French farm.

DR ELIZABETH OAKDEN

DR ELIZABETH OAKDEN

Libby is an experienced researcher and bio-scientist with a passion for food systems, holding a doctorate in Neuroscience, whilst recently gaining an MSc in Food Policy.

She loves analysing information and helping develop new solutions to problems. She supported technology development and innovators for over 15 years at UCL and Manchester University, delivering funding bids and complex projects with diverse partners from academia, industry and the non-profit sector.

Libby also once made a dinner party for 15 on a mini Baby Belling cooker.

ALISON WREN

Alison is a graphic designer with a precise eye for detail.

Having experienced both in-house and agency environments, she takes projects from initial design concepts and layouts, through to final artwork, image retouching and print. Starting out in publishing, followed by ten years at Waitrose, she contributed to the retailer’s corporate and promotional image, both in-store and via direct mail.

Alison once made two unicorn birthday cakes in a day, as her dog ate the first one!

SCOTT JACKSON PROFILE

SCOTT JACKSON

Scott Jackson (AKA Scotty) is a Designer, Illustrator and Animator from the North of the UK.

He has been making creative solutions and animations for companies such as Formula 1, CBRE, Disney Channel, McGuigan Wines, ESPN, Mambo and many more for over two decades.

He makes a fine Yorkshire Pudding and consumes instant ramen at any opportunity.

JADE REZENDE

Jade is a Media and Communications student from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, who now lives in London.

She is starting a career in marketing and communications and is eager to learn more about food systems and all its details. She is creative and loves to brainstorm new ideas. Other interests include music and reading.

Her favourite food is definitely sushi, but she will never say no to a classic Brazilian meal of rice and beans!
